The CEO of Pretty Publications is a five-time self-published author, educator, and entrepreneur. Upon the recent publication of her fifth work of literature/her first literary novel, she realized that there was a void in the market for various publications that had Muslim Representation with Islam as the underlying foundation, and that catered to the Islamic Diaspora. Today, popular publishing houses are simply overwhelmed with publications while others are looking for a come-up with literature that caters to LGBT and post-modern concepts that purport suicide-as-a-solution, alternative lifestyles, and atheistic ideologies.
A simple guess would tell us that you are visiting this site to start your journey to publishing a work of literature and that you are finding where to start, difficult.
Before we begin, let me share the two most common ways to publish a work of literature. For example, there’s self-publishing which is where an author does the process of bringing their work of literature to the public themselves under their own name. They usually copyright the work themselves, scout their own editor/illustrator etc., and front the cost for printing and distribution.
Then there’s the route of publishing a work through a publishing house. The process varies according to the negotiation contract between the author and the publishing house. For example, the Copyright could be done in the name of the author or the name of the house depending on what’s agreed upon in the contract.
Pretty Publications is a Publication House that bridges the gap between the footwork that an author undertakes when self-publishing and the trust and ease of allowing a publishing house to edit, format, copyright, publish, and market the publication through a variety of outlets such as Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Target, Costco, etc…
We have a variety of opportunities for an author to have their works published with us based upon their own needs. Keep in mind, all copyrights will be done in the name of the author except in the case of joint ventures. In that specific scenario, each author will be credited as such.
